Larry Hendrick Consulting’s experience in Preconstruction Estimating and Consulting includes Conceptual Estimating, Hard Bid Estimating and Bidding, Design Build Estimating and Bidding, Lease/Lease Back and Design Assist Estimating Services, and Construction Management Multi-Prime Estimating Services.
With several decades of estimating and bidding experience with the above listed projects throughout California we have gathered a robust database for cost estimating. The cost data information is comprised of current and historical data garnered from an extensive library of past and recent Projects. Our database is refreshed through information received from recent bid results, local sub-contractor and vendor input regarding current market conditions.
A major advantage of Larry Hendrick Consulting compared to other cost consulting firms is our direct experience not only with estimating the projects but actually being lead estimator bidding the projects and receiving the real cost data first hand. Because of real time experience bidding and providing cost management for projects, our firm has an ability to demonstrate an aptitude to value engineer and analyze the project plans, specifications, components and features and propose efficient and cost-effective methods or alternates to help keep the project on budget if necessary.
A large part of our estimating experience involves estimating for design build projects where the plans and specifications are being developed per the owner or project requirements in stages and small parts at a time. We can provide price updates regularly per the design updates so the proposed cost is always current with the proposed design elements.
Larry Hendrick Consulting will provide detailed estimates at each design phase milestone using estimate templates that provide accuracy of quantity take-offs and capture the complete scope and costing for the project. For projects that require multiple levels of estimating updates, we will provide a Trending Log in order to track any increases in the probable project construction cost and also to pin point cost components that have potential for value engineering or examine other variables and options to help provide best value to the project.
We will use our experienced and qualified MEP team to review the plans and specifications of the MEP systems. They will provide accurate real time pricing for the project as well as provide options for alternate materials, products and design value management to help keep the design on budget. We can include life cycle analysis and costing of the project systems and design to help with capital planning for deferred maintenance costs.
If desired, as a part of the services rendered, Larry Hendrick Consulting can assist in compiling a bidders list for sending bid invitations to bid the project, prepare detailed scopes of work that will be presented to all bidders to make sure all scope and responsibilities that are required to provide a complete, accurate and qualified bid are included in the Sub-contractor and General Contractor pricing. This will include all applicable and qualified local contractors that are a fit for the project. If desired, as part of the services rendered, we can assist in reviewing bids to make sure all required items and portions of the trade scopes required to construct the project are included and that the bids are complete and accurate and provide the best value to the project.
Once the project is in construction, our firm can assist in change order costing verification if necessary.
If there are problems or construction claims with a project, we can provide Construction Claims Costing and Expert Witness Testimony in regards to cost to repair.
